OSHA 10 hr. General Industry Standards Course Description.
The safety and well-being of employees is paramount to the success of any enterprise. Identifiying and eliminating safety hazards in the workplace is an ongoing challenge that requires commitment, forethought and action. These OSHA courses can be part of a proactive approach to safety and a very good way to enhance the safety directives that are already in place; or being developed. When we empower our employees with a culture of safety, they know that we truly care about them and their success. Further, they are also more likely to adhere to policy when they are involved and invested.
These courses cover a variety of subjects but are not designed as a certification. Rather, these courses are designed as an awareness of information to ensure that our employees are made aware of their rights to work in a safe environment and not fear retaliation when raising safety concerns. We owe it to our employees to listen to their concerns and make changes when appropriate. After all, they are the ones performing the tasks and most directly affected by the hazards in the workplace.
The courses are made up of mandatory subjects and electives which allows you the freedom to tailor the subject matter to your specific industry. Maybe Machine Guarding is of interest because you have a lot of machinery or maybe PPE is widely used and is a focus, you have the flexibility to focus on certain subjects.

Studies show that a large number of cardiac arrest victims fail to receive CPR prior to the arrival of medical professionals. Any person that is not breathing on their own needs CPR. This can be a matter of life and death.
Equally important to receiving CPR, is the safety and protection of the person administering it. You are not to come in contact with the bodily fluids of any person. You cannot become a victim trying to help a victim. Universal precautions dictate that you treat all of the victim’s bodily fluids as if they are infected. In any emergency situation that you are assisting with, make yourself the priority by taking the necessary precautions. Your safety is paramount!
This course is designed to provide the basics of administering CPR. Although there is no written test required for this course, participants will have to perform a skills test that will demonstrate an understanding of:

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a medical device that is used in cardiac emergencies. Early use of this device is paramount! Its function is to analyze the hearts rhythm. If it detects an abnormal rhythm, it will emit an electric shock in an effort to normalize the rhythm. If it detects a normal heart rhythm, it will not emit a shock. The AED will then automatically re-analyze the hearts rhythm every 2 minutes. When used in conjunction with CPR, the AED proves to be an invaluable device that can be the difference between life and death.
Our training is very hands on and covers step by step the proper use of the AED. At the end of this course, you will be able to:
